Industrial controls help our machines and processes be more productive from design and install through maintenance and operation. These components support and enable the entire manufacturing control system from power, logic, operator interface, connectivity, safety and sensing. At the Automation Fair event, Rockwell Automation paints a complete picture of their industrial capabilities. With so many things to see and do, don’t overlook the components that support your system. Here’s a list of our can’t miss new release control products. All of these will be on display at this year’s Automation Fair event at the Smart Devices exhibit (# 801) on the show floor.
1. 42AF RightSight™ M30 Photoelectric Sensors
Set to release in January 2019, the 42AF RightSight M30 family of photoelectric sensors offer general purpose sensing in a flexible and easy to install mounting package. The right-angle housing has a 30mm threaded nose and universal 18mm threaded base to provide installation flexibility with 360-degree highly visible status indicators. Embedded IO-Link communications are available in all sensing modes to provide access to enhanced diagnostic features. These sensors are specifically designed to withstand frequent high-pressure washdowns and 1200 psi making them ideal for food processing and material handling.
2. Control Tower™ 856T Tower Lights
Hitting the market just this past summer, the Bulletin 856T Control Tower Stack Lights provides a new modular design to meet any range of signaling applications while reducing the number of components needed. This new design offers a broad range of bright LED illumination and sound technologies. Rockwell has minimized installation and setup time with easy wire termination and internal DIP switched to select module output or function.
3. GuardShield™ 450L-E Advanced Light Curtain
Released in July 2018, the Allen-Bradley GuardShield™ 450L family offers enhanced flexibility without sacrificing safety. This cost-effective solution utilizes a unique patented transceiver technology allowing each stick to be used interchangeably as a transmitter or receiver. The active protective field allows the entire length of the transceiver to provide sensing. New features include cascading, built-in muting and blanking.
4. E300™ Electronic Overload Relay
Maximize uptime and protect your assets with the E300 Electronic Overload Relay. Another 2018 summer release, the E300 transforms real-time diagnostics into actionable information in a flexible design with simplified wiring. All this while still integrating seamlessly with Logix. Customize with Communication, Control or Sensing Modules. The E300 includes true RMS current/voltage sensing, integrated I/O and offers a full scalable solution.
GuardLink is a new safety-based communications protocol utilizing standard wiring in a plug-and-play style connection. It provides device location information, renders commands to the safety devices and delivers diagnostic information to the control system, all over a single cable. The connection of safety devices to the Connected Enterprise allows greater visibility, all the way down to individual guard doors and E-stops. Guardlink integrates perfectly with the Allen Bradley Guardmaster safety relays and Rockwell Automation Ethernet/IP architecture.
