Knowing how to migrate a MicroLogix PLC can be daunting – Finding a suitable hardware replacement, rewriting programming code, time spent engineering the perfect replacement.

As the MicroLogix family of PLC’s reach end-of-life it’s time to start thinking about migration considerations.

Specifically, we will cover considerations for:

  • Planning a migration for your MicroLogix controller;
  • Hardware and software replacement;
  • Application code conversion;
  • Supporting documentation.

In this 30-minute session we will review the important aspects of planning a MicroLogix PLC migration so that that daunting task of executing a migration becomes an achievable one. We’ll ask the obvious, and not-so-obvious questions to help you prepare for your migration. This session will review the key factors to make your MicroLogix migration execution runs as smooth as possible.

Taught by: David Florist, Automation Specialist at Rumsey Electric. Dave has been with Rumsey X+ years. Straight out of college, David took on the role of Automation Inside Product Specialist with a special focus on component level control systems, such as the MicroLogix & Micro800. Dave now focuses on the full PLC, HMI, and Software portfolio and is a valued member of the Automation Systems Group at Rumsey. He received his degree in Robotics and Automation, Technology Management, and Marketing from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
