Business Development Representative

We have an opening for a Business Development Representative based out of our Conshohocken location. This individual will be responsible for achieving sales goals by prospecting, developing, coordinating, and executing the sales strategy for assigned territory and accounts specified by management.
Essential Functions:The essential functions are the tasks, duties and responsibilities that are critical to the job; the employee must be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
•Represent the company to customers and prospects in a specified territory or to a specified list of accounts.
•Secure business, prospect new customers/call on existing customers and develop and present quotations for equipment, product, systems and services in an organized and systematic way.
•Coordinate with vendor representatives to introduce new items in company product lines; demonstrate features and uses, and answers questions regarding product application.
•Leverage customer relationships to help drive the company’s and departmental strategic initiatives.
•Analyze assigned sales territory; make strategic decisions based upon the analysis and manage resulting activities accordingly.
•Build and maintain professional vendor relationships that foster Rumsey’s continued access to quality product lines and advantageous pricing.
•Visit customers as needed to foster/build relationships or to introduce and present strategically important products.
•Effectively use samples, brochures and sales literature with customers and prospects.
•Work with Inside Sales and other support personnel to ensure efficient and effective order processing.
•Provide management with timely information on critical customer issues, competitors’ activities, new products in the market, and possible sales leads for business outside assigned territory.
•Assist in collecting from delinquent accounts; may be required to obtain credit information from new customers.
•Make special or emergency product deliveries to customers when necessary.
•Coordinate sales efforts with company’s advertising and promotions.
•Work cooperatively with other Rumsey departments to ensure timely resolution of issues affecting assigned accounts, including but not limited to: returned goods, warranty and repair issues, shortages and overages, and any misunderstandings that may arise.
•Provide value-added service by helping customers find more efficient and economical solutions.
•Accompany and/or interface with assigned accounts at seminars, trade-shows, or hospitality events.
•Write sales proposals to customers that comply with established guidelines and pricing policies.
•Develop appropriate sales strategies that maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
•Update and maintain company’s CRM system with an accurate representation of your assigned and prospective accounts (contacts, opportunities and activities).
•Submit reports as required (e.g. Call Reports, Expense Reports, etc.).
•Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of industries served, as well as products and services.
•Represent the company at all times in a positive manner.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
•Previous business to business sales or telesales experience; previous cold calling experience.
•Previous experience building relationships with clients to foster and promote on-going business.
•Knowledge of electrical and/or power transmission products.
•Previous experience with CRM.
