What we collect
Personal information that we collect includes information that you provide voluntarily to Rumsey. Personal information requested might include, for example, your name, business address, email address, web URL and title. Further, any information provided when signing up for the Rumsey newsletter, training registration, or when using our contact request form or surveys may constitute personal information. Rumsey offers you the opportunity to purchase electrical equipment/parts through the Site and you pay for these items with certain credit cards. We also collect browsing history, search history, information on user’s interaction with our website, applications or promotions.
The Company may, subject to applicable laws, uses personal information to contact our customers about our products, events, promotions, newsletters, and services, (herein Promotional communications) including to provide them with information on additional products from the Company that may be of interest to them.
These promotional communications may be electronic (e.g., emails) or physical (e.g., direct mail). If you do not want to receive such communications please indicate that preference by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org or simply opt-out by clicking the link labeled “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” at the bottom of any electronic communication we send you.
Please note that even if you opt-out of promotional communications, we may still need to contact you with important information about your account and related transactional information.
We require you to provide information about you and your Users to access and use Rumsey Web Store, and you may need to provide supplemental information to use or purchase some Rumsey Web Store products or services. You will ensure that all information that you provide to us is, always, accurate and complete. We may share information you provide (for example, your organization’s name, addresses, Taxpayer Identification Number) with others in your organization and third parties to confirm the accuracy of such information and your eligibility to use Rumsey Web Store or certain services (for example, to confirm you hold a valid license, certification, or credential where required). To enable us to improve our services, including by making available additional product selection or business pricing, we may share specific order information about the products or services you purchase through your Rumsey Web Store with the suppliers who provide such products or services. For example, for certain transactions, Rumsey may share your organization’s name or credentials, shipping address, shipment date, ASIN/SKU, quantity or other relevant information.
Regarding Credit Card Transactions
You may have the option to purchase and pay for products and services using your personal or company credit card. We do not store or save sensitive credit card data on our system. We work with Credit Card Processors that are compliant with appropriate Payment Card Industry Association [PCIA] standards to help ensure the safety and integrity of your credit card data. We may change our Credit Card Processors from time to time. When you pay for a product or other service by credit card, you will be providing your credit card number to our Credit Card Processor. We do collect information about your transaction and purchase history as a result of your using the Site.
When you visit the Site, we may capture certain information automatically (even if you do not voluntarily provide us with personal information, or in addition to personal information that you do provide). This information may include your Internet protocol ("IP") address, location-based information, browser type, time and date of access and pages accessed, linking information, click stream, page visits, page views, and website log files. Navigational information may include location-based information, which we use to verify your location and provide you information that is geographically useful to you. You may have the ability to disable your device's GPS or other location-based information transmitter. If you choose to disable your device's ability to transmit geolocation information, you may not be able to take advantage of all the Site's offerings. As discussed below, navigational information is also captured through third party analytics and ad services.
Who has access to my personal information?
Personal information you provide to us in connection with your account on the Site may be visible to others within your same organization, designated as "super users," who are given permission to see it. Rumsey verifies the identity of each such individual and confirms that he or she is authorized by the organization to be a super user before granting him or her permission to see the information of others within his or her organization. Your information will not be visible to third-party individuals or the public.
How is the personal information used?
We generally use personal information collected on the Site for the following purposes: to advise you of opportunities available on our site or elsewhere; to respond to requests for services; to provide information about your account and the proper use or misuse of the Site; to process technical or administrative issues or to communicate regarding those issues; to improve, expand, or otherwise adjust our services.

How does Rumsey treat "Do Not Track" requests from a user's browser?
Users may have the option of enabling "Do Not Track" in their browsers, which sends a signal to websites that the user does not want to be tracked across multiple websites. Rumsey does track users across its own websites, but not beyond its own sites. However, third parties who have a presence in or through our website, such as vendor partners, may engage in such tracking. Please note: if you disable cookies on your browser certain features of the Rumsey Site may not be available to you.
Does Rumsey use personal information for advertising purposes?
Under what circumstances does Rumsey disclose or transfer personal information to others?
Subsidiaries and Affiliates: Rumsey may transfer personal information to its subsidiaries, or affiliates for purposes related to Rumsey service offerings.
Site Consultants and Service Providers: Rumsey transfers, or your visit to the Site will result in such transfer of, personal information to third-party service providers that may be hosting or housing data on behalf of Rumsey or otherwise acting on its behalf as a datacenter (such as providers of hosting, cloud, technology outsourcing and support services). Additionally, Rumsey may disclose personal information to the extent that our service providers require access to our databases, or the information contained in our databases, to service Rumsey and the Site.
Legal Compulsion and Rumsey’s Protection: Rumsey reserves the right to release personal information in response to a subpoena or otherwise when we believe that the law requires us to do so or when we believe it is necessary to resolve disputes or to protect and/or enforce the rights, property interests, or safety of Rumsey, our users or others.
As Otherwise Allowed by Law: We may transfer personal information to third parties where we are expressly authorized by applicable law to do so.
How do you keep my personal information secure?
Although we cannot guarantee that our or our third-party service providers' servers are impenetrable, we have attempted to establish and implement reasonable safeguards to secure the information we collect online. Where we use third-party service providers to collect, store, or process data, we attempt to use third-party service providers who likewise also establish and implement reasonable procedures. If either our or our third-party service providers' security system [based on their alerting us], is breached, we will attempt to notify you in accordance with applicable laws.
Does the Site link to third party sites?
Rumsey may present site visitors the opportunity to link to third party sites. When using third party sites, you should review such party's sites to understand how they treat personal information.
While the Site may link to third party sites that track your actions on the Site, no personal information is provided by the Site to these third-party sites.
How long do you keep my information?
Rumsey will keep your personal information for as long as we deem it useful in our business and for as long as the applicable law allows us to maintain it. We note that our goal is to establish a relationship with our customers so that they always regard us as a resource for the services we offer. We also note that our customers always have the right to request that their information be deleted from our files. We will attempt to honor these requests, subject to applicable law and our judgment that the information is not important for us to maintain for our internal record-keeping purposes for reasons other than continuing a commercial business relationship with you (e.g., for tax, accounting and other transactional purposes).
How can I access and make changes to my personal information?
If you are a California resident, or a resident of a State with a Privacy Rights law, You have the right to a) know what personal information we have collected, used or disclosed about you and b) request that we delete and personal information we have collected about you.
When exercising these rights, the Company will verify your identity by asking you for your name, email address, telephone number, information about your companies dealing with the Company and or the last 4 digits of a credit card used with the company. We also may use a third-party verification service to validate your identity.
