Not able to attend TechED or Automation Fair last year for hands on training?
Looking to check out some of the latest software release features?
Want to take a test drive of the latest technology?
What if we told you there is an easy, no-cost way to do all that right from your desk with only a web browser? There is and we are excited to introduce you to Rockwell Automation Cloud Based Infrastructure or RAcbi for short.
What is the RA Cloud Based Infrastructure?
The RAcbi is a system that provides web browser access to cloud based virtual machines. These virtual machines contain a wide range of Rockwell Automation products that can be used for demonstrations, basic self-study labs, and a wide range of other applications.
How do I take advantage of the RAcbi?
It’s as easy as selecting the content you would like to learn more about and filling out the below request form. Since customers don’t have direct access to the scheduling portal your request will be entered by a Rumsey Automation specialist. Once your scheduled content is deployed you will be emailed a public internet link and credentials to access your content.
What if the selected lab has hardware content?
If your selection is marked as yes in the Hardware column that means the image is connected to actual hardware at Rockwell. The only difference is in the scheduling. Rather than just being done in a portal where we can see right away if the asset is available during the requested time period there is an additional step involved. We need to submit and get verification that the hardware will be available during your requested time period as there is limited hardware available.
What are these labs?
There is quite an array of technologies you can get yourself exposed to via the web portal system. This ranges from basic hands on labs with change management/disaster recovery solutions like Assetcentre to PlantPAx process application development to the latest IoT Solutions for Analytics. Additionally, there is also labs such as making beer with FactoryTalk Craft Brew and reducing waste with Logix AI Embedded Analytics.
Does this replace the Rockwell Classes or their new Virtual E-Learning System?
No, most definitely not. These are self-study short labs. Usually about 30-60 minutes to help you get familiar with a certain piece of technology or software. The new E-Learning system that was just launched is very specific, well designed curriculums and coursework that step you through work and learning in great detail. It is designed to be taken over a series of days and usually includes 8-24 hours or coursework to get you to a specific skill level. You would have access for one month or one year depending on the option you select, here you may access these labs for up to one week. In contrast, the RAcbi has most of the labs you would see at the large Rockwell events such as Automation Fair, TechED, or RAOTM without the travel.
