MCCs design and construction make them inherently safer than traditional options by effectively protecting personnel from high-energy equipment and dangerous shock hazards. Automatic shutters are an optional feature that immediately isolate the vertical power bus when a unit is removed. New SecureConnect™ technology allows users to connect or disconnect unit stabs without being exposed to live electrical parts, adding an additional layer of safety during upgrades, expansions, or maintenance. ArcShield™ technology and construction adds even greater protection from dangerous arc faults. This certified design contains arc faults within the enclosure, fully protecting personnel on the front, sides, and rear of the MCC. It also minimizes the affects of an arc incident by reducing the arc fault current and preventing the spread of the arc throughout the enclosure.
Because of their design and global testing and certification, CENTERLINE MCCs protect your assets from physical and cyber threats. Specifically, they meet the newest ISA/IEC 62443-3-3 standard. A centralized MCC allows you to have more organized and effective control of your motor control devices.
IntelliCENTER software allows customers to standardize firmware, configure Ethernet switches, and pre-configure HMIs, drives, and other devices, all from the factory floor, allowing for simpler and faster installation and startup. Once installed, the real-time diagnostics of these devices can be monitored, and their parameters can be changed remotely through the IntelliCENTER software. This capability, made possible with smart motor control devices, enables customers to detect potential problems within the system, and to make informed decisions to prevent unplanned shut-downs and downtime. It effectively allows users to monitor their system and identify and diagnose issues without having to shut down their process, lockout, or remove components. Other features, such as event logging and trending, and email notifications for alarms and faults, allow for a truly Connected Enterprise, where the plant floor communicates directly with the corporate office.
The scalability of Rockwell’s CENTERLINE MCCs allows customers to quickly purchase, install, and expand their MCC without having to shut down plant operations, greatly reducing installation time and costs. They are essentially drop-in ready, with a globally consistent footprint and compliance to NEMA and IEC industry standards. IntelliCENTER MCCs come with factory configured and validated EtherNet/IP networks. Additionally, all assembly and validations take place before the MCC leaves the factory, reducing design and start-up time. IntelliCENTER software allows customers to configure and program all smart motor control devices within Rockwell’s Studio 5000® design software. These configurations can then be stored in the controller, greatly simplifying device replacement. Device parameters are automatically mapped to controller tags within Studio 5000®. CENTERLINE units and buckets are plug and play, meaning that they can be added, removed, or replaced at any time. This makes upgrades and maintenance much simpler and more efficient.
